Transfer Money to Your Robinhood Account

Now that you’ve successfully linked your bank account, you can transfer funds into your Robinhood account.

Initiating a Deposit

  1. Tap the Account icon in the upper left corner.
  2. Tap Banking.
  3. Tap Transfer to Robinhood.
  4. Choose the account you’d like to transfer from.
  5. Enter the deposit.
  6. Swipe Up.

You can see your transfer history, your pending transfers, and their estimated landing dates in the History tab of the Account menu.


Note: You can transfer up to $50,000 per business day into your account..

Instant Deposits

You’ll receive up to $1,000 in instant deposits. The settlement time for any deposit larger than $1,000 will be around four to five business days.

Automatic Deposits

You can set up automatic transfers into your Robinhood account on your mobile app:

  1. Tap the Account icon in the upper left corner.
  2. Tap Banking.
  3. Tap Automatic Deposits.
  4. Choose your schedule.
    1. Weekly: We’ll initiate this deposit every Monday.
    2. Twice Monthly: We’ll initiate this deposit on the 1st and 15th of every month.
    3. Monthly: We’ll initiate this deposit on the 1st of every month.
    4. Quarterly: We’ll initiate this deposit on the 1st of January, April, July, and October.
  5. Enter the amount you want to deposit each time.

Note: You can only set one weekly, one biweekly, one monthly, and one quarterly automatic deposit for each ACH relationship.

Canceling a Pending Deposit

To cancel a pending deposit in your mobile app:

  1. Tap the Account icon in the upper left corner.
  2. Tap History.
  3. Tap the pending deposit you want to cancel.
  4. Tap Cancel Transfer.
Keep in Mind: You can only cancel your transfer prior to market close on the day you initiate the transfer. If you don’t see the Cancel button, we can’t cancel your transfer. You may also notice there’s no Cancel button if the funds from your deposit are being used to cover a margin call or negative buying power, or if you’ve already made purchases with the funds.

Transfer Reversals

An ACH reversal happens when a scheduled transfer gets canceled. Reversals may happen for a few reasons:

  • Insufficient Funds
  • Wrong Type of Account (doesn’t support ACH transactions)
  • Duplicate Transaction
  • Declined Transfer

 Tip: You can check how much cash you can withdraw from your Robinhood account by viewing your Account Summary.

If your transfer into Robinhood is reversed, we’ll send you a notification email, put your funds back in your originating account, and pass along our clearing partner’s fee. Unfortunately, we aren’t authorized to waive this fee after our clearing partner charges it to your account. In some cases, we’ll unlink your bank account after multiple reversals to prevent additional fees.

Note: Stopped payments may also require additional documentation to avoid account closure.

If you have any questions about a reversal, we suggest speaking with your bank. We don’t initiate reversals.

To prevent any future reversals, we recommend taking the following steps before initiating transfers to Robinhood:

  • Verify that you have sufficient funds available for 1-2 business days following your transfer request in the app because the request might be delayed reaching your bank.
  • Confirm that your bank account is compatible with standard outgoing ACH transfers, and that you’ve entered in the correct information when you linked the account.
  • Refrain from making transfers from a savings account because it might be limited to 6 transactions per month (including any small amounts we transferred to link the account manually).
