Deposit Money into Your Robinhood Account

Step-by-step instructions on how to fund your new Robinhood Account!                                                          

Initiating a Deposit

  1. Tap the Account icon in the bottom right corner.
  2. Tap Transfers.
  3. Tap Transfer to Robinhood.
  4. Choose the account you’d like to transfer from.
  5. Enter the deposit.
  6. Swipe Up.

You can see your transfer history, your pending transfers, and their estimated landing dates in the History section of the Account tab.

Note: You can transfer up to $50,000 per business day into your account.

Instant Deposits

You’ll receive up to $1,000 in instant deposits. The settlement time for any deposit larger than $1,000 will be around 5-6 business days. Although you get instant access to funds, the ACH withdrawal could happen 5-6 business days after you initiate the transfer. Please make sure you have the necessary funds in your bank account for at least 5-6 business days after you initiate the ACH transfer to prevent a transfer reversal. A transfer reversal happens when a scheduled bank transfer is canceled for insufficient funds or a variety of other reasons. Check out our guide to preventing transfer reversals to learn more.

Automatic Deposits

You can set up automatic transfers into your Robinhood account on your mobile app:

  1. Tap the Account icon in the bottom right corner.
  2. Tap Transfers.
  3. Tap Automatic Deposits.
  4. Choose your schedule.
    1. Weekly: We’ll initiate this deposit every Monday.
    2. Twice Monthly: We’ll initiate this deposit on the 1st and 15th of every month.
    3. Monthly: We’ll initiate this deposit on the 1st of every month.
    4. Quarterly: We’ll initiate this deposit on the 1st of January, April, July, and October.
  5. Enter the amount you want to deposit each time.

Note: You can only set one weekly, one biweekly, one monthly, and one quarterly automatic deposit for each ACH relationship.

Canceling a Pending Deposit

To cancel a pending deposit in your mobile app:

  1. Tap the Account icon in the bottom right corner.
  2. Tap History.
  3. Tap the pending deposit you want to cancel.
  4. Tap Cancel Transfer.

Keep in mind: There are three potential cutoffs for when you can cancel a transfer, depending on when you initiated it. After the cutoff passes, you won’t be able to cancel the transfer anymore, and you’ll need to wait for it to complete.

  • If you initiate a transfer before 3:00 PM EST, you can cancel it up until 3:00 PM EST that same day.
  • If you initiate a transfer between 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM EST, you can cancel it up until 7:00 PM EST that same day.
  • If you initiate a transfer after 7:00 PM EST, you can cancel it up until 3:00 PM EST the following trading day.
