Changing Your Password
If you’ve forgotten your password or want to change it, click the “Forgot Password” link on the login page to send a password reset email to your email address on file.
If you don’t see this email in your inbox, please check your spam folder or any other email addresses you may have. If you believe you incorrectly entered your email address at signup, submit a ticket here to change your email address.
Please make sure that you’re entering in an entirely new password. If you try to enter in the same one, you won’t be able to log in.
Updating Your Email
If you’d like to update your email address, log into the Robinhood app and open the Account menu. Tap on “Settings”, then “Update Email”, and follow instructions to change your email address. If we have reason to believe your email may be incorrect, your account may be temporarily restricted until we can confirm your correct email address.
If our clearing partner isn’t able to deliver emails to the email address you’ve provided, then you’ll receive a notification requesting that you update your email address on file. Please make sure that you allow emails from Robinhood and ProxyVote to reach your inbox. Continued issues with your email address could result in an account restriction.
Updating Your Mailing Address
If you’ve recently moved and have a new mailing address, log into the Robinhood app and open the Account menu. Tap on “Settings”, then “Update Account”, then “Update Address”, then enter in your address and confirm the location on the map.
While address changes will reflect on documents moving forward, we won’t be able to retroactively update old statements, trade confirmations, or tax documents.
If we have reason to believe your address may be incorrect, your account may be temporarily restricted until we can confirm your correct residential address.
Updating Your Username & Number of Dependents
Unfortunately, we can't change your username or the number of dependents you have once we’ve approved your account. We only use this information for internal and tracking purposes, so this won't affect your experience with Robinhood.
Updating Your Legal Name
In order to update your legal first or last name in our system, we'll need the following:
- A photo of the legal name change court document or marriage license
- An updated photo ID with your preferred name
- A signed letter of authorization from you requesting the name change on your Robinhood account
Please attach the above documents to a support ticket and we’ll be happy to work with you to process your change!
We don’t currently have a feature to name a beneficiary for automatic transfer on death. In the event of a death, we will work with the executor of the estate to collect proper documentation and dissolve the account appropriately.
